Yo-ho, thought it would be nice if there was a collective area where we can meet everyone - for both new and old members. Tell us about yourself; why you are here; what you hope to achieve this October, etc! I'll start. :] My name's Kristina, but Iro [Goría] works too. British high school student (final year!), studying English, Spanish and French. I'm back this year as I have more tales to tell, and this time health and photography won't be getting in the way of writing. This year I'm aiming for 50,000 words over a collection of short stories. All with a dark flare; driven by psychotic men, and women in no rush to become a damsel in distress. Throw in murders; kidnappers; lesbian detectives; widows; ghosts; peeping toms; necrophilliacs and a few creepy kids in for a bit of a good measure, and well... maybe all I have here is a mess. But it will make sense by November, honest! Hoping for another fun October here - let's make this one more active than the last! ;D

Hi Iro!
I'm back this year too, and it's Creepy Comedy for me this time round (20K goal). I have a couple of ideas in mind - a helpful ghost and two star-crossed lovers - and I'm looking forward to settling down to writing it in October.
Best of luck with the 50,000 words! You've got a lot of wonderful and varied ingredients there with which to concoct your collection of stories.

I guess I'm into reintroducing *wink* I'm Jane, known for the same username in AugNo and JulNo forum. This is my first year of wrimos and impressed by the nice warm people. I won both and after two continuous wrimos I don't join the SeptNo since I can't sign up (in fact, there's none on the site that I could click at! Strange. ), beside, I have to focus at my scattered school for a while. That's why I'll be back in October and aim for lower goal. 30k, that is. I have never written anything Goth before, but I'll give it a try. I'm so into fantasy, which is my real genre, mixed with YA. So I'll write about necromancy for GothNo and the plot bunnies are jumping on mind. Wish me luck By the way, I'm 17 and gonna turn 18 by November. I'm living in Indonesia currently (hello, any country fellows? Lol.), which means English is my second language. I've been writing in it since JulNo. Anyway, sorry for mispelling and wrong grammars I'm a high school student. A senior, so I'm quite busy at the moment. By next year I'll go to college in Melbourne. Okay, that's all I can say. This is a quite long post for me, don't think I've ever typed one that's as long as this one If you wanna contact me, here are the addresses: MSN: queen_not_princess@hotmail.com AIM: janefendy Twitter: janefendy YM: queen_not_princess2@yahoo.co.uk Always looking for new friends. Feel free to greet me

Hello everyone!
I'm back again. I'm Katica, aka Edward Sledge on some sites, I'm almost 29 and I'm so excited to be a part of this again. I had so much fun last year, even if my GothNovel didn't turn out quite as Gothic as I had planned. I finally finished it in mid-March--a behemoth weighing in at 163k words--and I haven't had the heart (or the time) to start cutting it down to size.
In June, my first e-book was published, and just last month, my first print novel was published. I have a second novel coming out sometime next year, and two more e-books being released in November. I've also finished writing half a dozen short stories and started working on a new novel. Busy busy busy.
For GothNo this year, I'll do dark fantasy again, and hopefully be able to stick to the genre better. I have no idea what it'll be about, or what my goal will be, but I can't wait for October!

Hi all, I think I said hi in another thread but I'm reinterducing myself here as well. This is my first gothno. I'm such a newbie at these nanowrimos. 05 was my very first nanowrimo, then the nanoedmo. Suddenly I began seeing one in april (thin k that was an edmo?) Recently I discovered Juno and augno. Now gothno (my favorite month- I love holloween). I currently am editing two stories, one is secrets a cop crime story) and a children's story. I need a few more stories. then do a synopisis and query to send to publishers. But I cant wait to write another horror goth type story,,, off to do some more research/planning.

HI, I'm Talula I was here a while ago but did not get to actually participate in the writing. It seemed natural to hop on over here when I saw it last year! Most of the stories and poems I write are dark anyway. LOL Morbid, - but hey fun is fun right Wow so many people are doing the ...mos all year. I haven't been able to do that. I do NANO every year for the last 5 or 6 years. I look forward to trying Gothmo! I am going to go for a smaller word count 20-30 K (the school year just started adn is always hectic so...) I have no ideas as of yet ... ummm I hope to meet a lot of new friends and writing buddies! Good luck with the pens and boards!

Hi everyone! I'm Marian. Halloween is my favorite holiday, and so when I found out about this site last year, I was so excited. I hope to stay more organized this year, and not get so distracted. I'm a senior in high school though, so hopefully college applications won't be too time consuming. I like to instant message, so if you every want to chat, my username is pinkpony253.

Hi, I'm "Jacky". If you wanna track me down over at NaNo it's dcValentine. Yet another high school senior. Hi fellow students in the class of 2010! Last year I <em>technically</em> participated, but, since all I really did was churn out about 1200 words before becoming utterly disenchanted with my novel idea and avoided this site for the rest of the month out of shame, I'd like to think of this as a fresh start.
I'm aiming for exactly half a NaNo because due to it being <strike>American football season</em> Marching Band season I'm a lot busier in October than I am in November. The ideas I've read about you other authors considering this year all sound very interesting and I can't wait to hear all about them when we all start writing! I'm really excited about this year!

*sigh* I've used html tags where they are rendered unrecognizable. How embarrassing. For those who don't know, the things in <em></em> should be in italics and the tings in <strike></strike> should have a line through them.

Hi, I'm trikky, (Sarah irl) and I'm participating again this year... I'm also starting college, though, so I'm not sure how much time I'll get for this exactly, but I'll see what I can do. I only got to about 4k last year, but this time I'll have more time to plan and make sure I have enough story material to last the month =D Also, I bought an old Emate 300 to use for writing only... it gets like 35 hours of battery life (replaced the old battery with a AA tray for rechargable NiMHs) and has a nice, simple wp w/a backlight.... sorry, I had to brag ^^; I will also be sticking a Ghostbusters sticker on it and naming it Morbo, after the Futurama character.

Um, hi, I'm Emma, and as you can plainly see from my post count, I'm a newb to GothNo. Never written a gothic novel before, but I've always liked the genre -- and especially the Southern gothic subgenre -- and wanted to give it a try. I'm just going to be writing a novella this time, a mix of gothic and horror, but maybe next year I'll try for a more serious Southern gothic novel. I'm really not doing any prep for GothNo, but I am reading Dracula to get into the mood. I may be a masochist for taking this on at all. I still have my MASSIVE first novel to edit (and believe me, it needs some major reworking), my AugNo novel to finish, and tons and tons of planning to do for my NaNo... Not to mention I just started classes last week. September is going to be my only semblance of rest until winter break. (I'm emmadaiou28 on NaNo and AugNo too, btw. *waves to the familiar faces*)

My print novel, Magebound, can be found on amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com, and my e-book, Unspoken, is sold through Smashwords and Shadowfire Press' website.
