Starting up a fresh personal progress threat for 2019! I'm aiming to use the month to add 12k to a story I've been poking at a little these past few months. Originally I was going to do creepy nautical novella, but the ideas for this vampire story I'm working on just keep coming! While it's not a brand new project, I don't have a lot done on it so it's perfect to play with during spooky season. I'm also participating in the NYC Midnight Microfiction contest this weekend, so I'm probably going to lose a whole day of GothNo writing to that.
The story still needs a lot of work and planning, which is why I love throwing myself into these projects for events like GothNo and NaNo to see what comes out if I just run with it. It is set during the late Victorian Era, though I haven't pinned down which decade. I'm still figuring out which historical facts are important to the plot so that I can time it right.
I can't wait to get started tomorrow! Hope to see everyone around the forums!

Day 1 was a success! I got my first 500 words in! My plan is to write 500 words, allowing for a few days off during the month. My day job is very mentally demanding, so I like to have small goals for the end of a workday, as I have a better chance of seeing them through. Here's hoping tomorrow is just as productive!

I wrote a whole 100 extra words tonight! Hoping I can keep up the momentum for the rest of the month.

Today was quite a success. I wrote 800 words. I have tomorrow off from work, but I have a lot of errands and chores to do, so we'll see how much I manage to get written.

Wow, this month got crazy pretty fast. I participated in the NYC Midnight challenge and wrote a 250 word piece of micro fiction. I think it went pretty well, but the genre is out of my comfort zone. I won’t get any feedback on it until the 20th of next month, so we’ll see if progress to round 2.
And then my grandmother passed away last night. We knew it was coming, but it still seems sudden.
Despite all of this, though, I’m at 4100 words added to my project this month, which is actually right where I should be for a 500 word per day goal. Let’s just hope the average continues to even out for the rest of the month!

Even though I've had a few days where I didn't write as much as I should have, I've had some days where I wrote more than I needed to. Right now I'm sitting at about 8,300 words, which is 1,300 more than where I should be for a goal of 500 per day! I've really kept my habits up this month, probably more than I ever have when attempting GothNo! I hope everyone else is having a productive month!

I've surpassed my goal! Right now I'm at about 13,300 words, 1,300 above my goal for the month! I'm going to keep going as much as I can until the first when NaNo arrives, but I've definitely made a lot of great progress on this story.

I'm so happy you surpassed your goal!! And I apologise immensely for not being here for gothnowrimo season. And, I'm sorry about your grandma. My granddad died earlier this year. It's tough! I admire you for writing through it. Good luck with nanowrimo!
