I've spent most of this month tossing around my idea for this and NaNo including doing a cover page, mapping out the creepy castle for this story, and getting a vague plot outline underway. But for only have 8 days left (if I'm counting what little is left of today...) I still seem to have quite a bit of kinks to work out.
Anyone else doing some last minute prepwork? Or are you just going to dive right in when the time comes?

I'm thinking that I'm just going to end up diving in. I worked out a few little things that were causing me some problems before, and might end up doing that once more before October starts, but I'm going in mostly blind.

I tried planning early, but that didn't work, so I gave up and was just going to wing it. Now I'm getting enough ideas to choke a dragon and I'm rushing to write them all down before October gets here.

I read that as, "Now I'm getting ideas to choke a dragon," and I felt pretty bad for that dragon...

I read that as, "Now I'm getting ideas to choke a dragon," and I felt pretty bad for that dragon... Lol. That sounds like a fantasy euphanism. I may have to work that into my story ;D

I've been so busy, I haven't had much time to plan anything at all. Hopefully I'll have enough to write... for now, though, my plot is very poorly developed, and I actually have very little to go on aside from the characters, who I know very well, and the general idea, which could use some work.

I finally made a list of characters, which I think is about as good as it's going to get. I'm just going to set them loose and see what happens. ...Yeah, I haven't had a lot of time to do planning.

I finally figured out a chunk of my plot. o.O Though I'm not sure I'll be able to do an outline before the end of the month is up (still missing some key factors...).
Everyone seems to be going in blind for the most part. Good luck to you all! -clings to her castle map, half done character sheets, and warpy plot sketch-

I've only recently (like the last week or so) started to toss around some ideas in my head. I haven't committed to anything yet, though. I think in this last week before gothno I'm going to start thinking up all kinds of strange dark things... but I won't make a definite plot. Some ideas maybe, but nothing specific. I'll just jump headlong into the darkness and see where I land I guess. XD

I did most of my planning at the start of the month when too ill to do much else. I'm planning to spend the September weekend (26th - 29th) tweaking a few bits and filling in any gaps.

I've been working on a writing course and applying the lesson assignments to GothNoWriMo so I've definitely got a plan in place. But I don't have the whole plot planned out. (You can read my blog to find out just what I've done, if you're interested.) I like to leave some surprises for myself, too, so I don't know how my heroine is going to do battle with a ghost that can't be reasoned with. I'm looking forward to seeing how that turns out for her. I have her love-interest in place with the conflict between them but I've no idea how they're going to get together, either. I just know that somehow battling the ghost will help! But that's what I like about writing. Discovering as I go along.

I have a blurb of a plot worked out...I just need the vague and hazy idea. Now I am going to spend these final days before really getting to know my characters in the hopes they just write the story for me. Oh goody. I just need to speak with my characters again to know where we are.... Like
me: So, are you going to participate in GothNoWriMo, eh? MC 1: ... MC 2: ...
Is all I have right now. I am remaining confident that I will get somewhere. I am fond of the last minute prep because it forces me to make the necessary decisions.

I may have to work that into my story ;D You mean euphemism, right? Anyway, I should probably get around to a little bit of a preparation. I think I'll do that now. I'm so lazy.

Last minute prep? It's not the last minute yet!
I've been having a rough month (a rough life, actually) and wasn't sure I was going to participate.
I don't even know which of my many somewhat-Gothic story ideas to go with.
But then again, I don't have to decide until tomorrow.....
