Not sure when I'll get round to it, August maybe, but I hope to read Northanger Abbey and/or The Phantom of the Opera, two novels I was interested in last year's challenge but never got round to reading...

I've never read or heard of Northanger Abby, but I read Phantom of the Opera during the school year. Took me over a month, but that was because I lacked motivation. It's a good book. Good luck with your reading!
P.S. Am I really crazy for being on this board this early? Because it seems like no one else is here.

Nope, you're not crazy. Every couple of weeks, I log on, just to see if there's anything going on. I've been meaning to read Northanger Abby. I need to check it out of the library sometime soon.

Ooh, I've also been meaning to read Northanger Abby! I just need to get it somehow. Maybe I'll add it to my August "finish Wuthering Heights already!" challenge. XD
Oh, and I just came back to this forum, and will be checking it more regularly now... no one's crazy for being here so early!! Unless by crazy you mean incredibly awesome.

I've just found another couple of books that look interesting. Castle of Wolfenbach by Eliza Parsons (1793) and The Castle of Otranto by Horace Walpole (1764).

I've owned Frankenstein twice and never read it. At the beginning of the summer I bought it for a great deal at B&N, and this seems like the perfect motivation I need to get it read!

*slinks onto board*
I'm afraid I haven't read Northanger Abbey. Or The Castle of Wolfenbach. Or The Castle of Otranto. There just wasn't time.
How's everybody else doing?

I'm good! Don't worry... I haven't actually finished any of the books on my reading list. YET.
Anyway, I have to go stat planning for gothno!! Maybe this is the day that I start! That's right, I still haven't actually planned. You know I have vague ideas, but... nothing else!! (plus I might not even go with that whole gothic family thing..)

I am redeemed!
I've actually read two gothic novels; they're just not the ones on my list.
Coraline and The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. Excellent reading in them too. Highly recommended. (Thank you to Lily for reminding me about these!)
And thus I have been redeemed. It is a glad day. No more need I wander the battlements of my castle, weeping quietly.
