what do you guys think of giving the main character a vision of a prophecy at the end of the story? or should the vision be at the beginning?

It depends. Is the prophecy an integral part of the story?

well, i wanted to have the prophecy playing a big role in different kind of stories, so i was wondering when in the book it should take place.

Once again, it really depends on how important it is to the story. If it's necessary for the story to progress, then I'd say pretty early. If it's not necessary, like if the characters would fulfill the prophecy anyway, then at the end is fine.

I'd like to know more about the story before I input my opinion!

I think that whatever the place where the prophecy appear in the book it must be obvious that it is a prophecy. If it's at the end of the book then it have to be brought by a "third-party-wasn't-there-don't-know-anything-about-it" person because if it appear in a dream or something similar it could be mistaken for a memory of what happened.
I think that it can really add in oddness to be told "after the fact" that whatever you just did had nothing to do with freewill, it was all written in the stars.
