Ahhh, I didn't realize there was a distinction....
Of course, if characters had androgynyous names, I suppose this would be necessary.
I am excited for GothNo...but I'll probably fail pretty hard at it

I think it's just from our average thinking of a romantic story or at least angle added to the stories. Of course that is not the norm, but it's something we've gotten used to. Personally, I wasn't even thinking about romance being added to my story when I first thought of it, but here was always going to be a main female and male character. Since then, I've had an urge to add romance though it may not fit as cleanly as I hope. I could always chop it later.

naming characters is i think very hard, sometimes you have named them all with the same letter, or the name doesn't fit the character soem way, so i just try to useit and see what it brings

short story: mmc: lord evan marcus fmc1: lady erin marcus (née rees) fmc2: lady moira rees (unofficially marcus) mv: micheal james
novel: fmc: anna merlim mmc: [unnamed. probably still evan] mv: mike joseph
i'm okay at naming characters. i don't try for significance, only for sound. i have a list of first names that i open when i need new characters. these just came, though. -shrugs- they want their story told.

it looks so easy to do all the naming stuff and devolping the character, but it isn't always like that. i've noticed that for shure.

Oh my, I need to find names right now. So far, I have these temps: gay Japanese man older vampire man woman/girl older woman lover woman vampire elder komu girl (because she looks like komu, a nickname for an actress I adore... but I can't have that name or it'd be too obvious... maybe)
Yeah, so I need to go look up some Japanese names now!!
I've noticed that sometimes, it's super easy to name characters, almost like they're screaming at you going "my name is Leela!!" and other times it's like... no name fits... at all. But I love finding names, I really do. It's so fun.

i found today a form with giving your character those things that would make them really a character and not some kind of weird flawless stuffed thing that is following the golden path to the perfect end (worst case scenario)
