Hi, I'm Helen from the UK. This isn't my first WriMo, but I'm doing really badly this year so hopefully I can win this one My usual genres are fantasy and sci fi. I'm leaning towards a gothic sci fi novel for GothMo, simply because I've never seen it done. It's going to be... interesting - I have no ideas whatsoever

Hey Helen! :] Having no idea at all is an ideal place to start, I think. Isn't that where all the best novels began from anyway? Hope you have fun here!

Hey Helen Oh a new genre cool. You will go down in te history books for starting something new. Yay. I'm more of a jump out of your skin kinda writer. and movie watcher. In fact the other day I began to get in the spirit by watching a Friday the 13. There are so many cool movies and so little month sometimes. Welcome

Hi Misaditas! Looks like you're a FarScape fan, too! (And didn't Crais go out in a wonderful way in Season 3?)
A gothic sci-fi novel, hmmm? I suppose you could replace the haunted house with a haunted space station or something.
Probably the best place to start, though, is with your characters.
Welcome to GothNo!

Ooh a fellow FS fan! Cool Yeah, Crais really did go out with a bang, though I rather wish he hadn't. It might be a redundant statement, but I am a huge Crais fan and I've written a ridiculous amount of fanfiction around him. In fact, I've just come first in the fandom awards for Best Characterisation of his character ;D In all honesty I wouldn't be here if it weren't for Crais. I'd not written anything before he crashed into my head and forced me to put pen to paper. I honed my skills through fanfic and started writing original fiction two years ago, when I did Nano for the first time. I love science fiction, though I miust say mixing it with gothic is going to be a challenge Attachments:

Wow! Gothic Scifi sounds so cool...I've read the two genres separately but not together. Good luck!

Gothic Scifi? Sounds like just the sort of thing I'd just HAVE to pick up if I saw it in a bookstore. I wish you the best of luck!

Ooh a fellow FS fan! Cool Yup, a writing friend introduced me to FS a couple of months ago and has a box set of all five seasons. I've just finished Season 3 (and that scene with Crais and Talyn nearly had me in tears) and I'm anxiously awaiting Season 4 to see if John catches up with Aeryn. Yeah, Crais really did go out with a bang, though I rather wish he hadn't. It might be a redundant statement, but I am a huge Crais fan and I've written a ridiculous amount of fanfiction around him. In fact, I've just come first in the fandom awards for Best Characterisation of his character ;D Wow, well done! That's something you can add to your writer bio and cover letters. Fantastic! I love science fiction, though I miust say mixing it with gothic is going to be a challenge If you ever need to brainstorm, drop by the boards and I'm sure there'll be no end of suggestions.
