Haha, so... I made this forum, and I don't even know if this thread is in the right place!!
Anyway, is anyone else here doing AugNoWriMo? I am, but I'm sucking, badly... maybe because I'm working on a novel that I've been doing since, let's see, last November? I love it and all, but you know... I'm having a hard time motivating myself to finish. I now know pretty much what happens, and so now I have to write it out. I don't think it's so much that I'm bored of my story. Actually, I'm not bored of it at all i freakin LOVE it! My problem is I love it TOO much and so whenever I get down to write I freeze up because I can't write the perfect words. I guess I have to remember that it's a rough draft.. Anyway, I should be posting this in my augno journal!
So, is anyone else here doing AugNo? Basically it's like nanowrimo, but in August. My wordcount goal for that is 40k, I think. My book should be done by then.

Nah, had too much going on and I'm already working on a WIP to boot. Yeah, big thing is finishing that first draft. If you're going to publish it, you've got edits and multiple rewrites to make it perfect. I wouldn't worry about making it perfect on the first draft. Getting the words on the paper/screen is what's important.

No, I'm not, but I am relaxing a bit and taking it easy with SuWriMo (which ends this month).
I'm sorry you're having a hard time. Hang in there, but don't overstress yourself! You can do it!

Maybe under "Challenges, prompts, etc." since AugNoWriMo is a challenge?

Maybe under "Challenges, prompts, etc." since AugNoWriMo is a challenge? Wouldn't that be more specific to challenges on this forum?
I'm also taking part in AugNoWriMo. I signed up for 50k, hit the half way point at 3am morning and am taking part in the "Back to School Special" WriDay challenge in just eight hours time.
Like Lily, I've been working on my AugNo novel since November. I've been writing my NaNo '07: A Map of the World on and off since then. Last night I realised whilst discussing a scene with a few non-writer friends that I only have a day and a half worth of story left to tell. It only occurred to me at that point that even though I've been wanting to finish this story for seven months, I really don't want to get to that point where I write "The End" and move onto something new. I'm actually reluctant to finish it now.

If you don't want to finish it you could always call it a serial and keep it going forever.

I have had a sequel in mind since December which I plan to write for NaNoWriMo this year, but it's just a case of becoming so attached after so many months spent writing it. I'll be glad it's finally finished, but just the thought of it ending is sort of sad. ^^;

Oh, I know what you mean. I desperately want ot just write THE END, but when I think about the fact that after I do that it will be over, then... oh, it gets sad! I think I want to write about these people forever! I've even had fleeting thoughts about writing this story from other people's POV, which might be boring to the reader... but it wouldn't be to me! Or making a prequel, then a sequel, lol
But I still have a ways to go I think. I signed up for the 40k and I've only gotten 5k of that done... plus I think that I might need atleast 50k or more to finish this. Unless I summarize.

I'm doing Nanocomo, and secretly aiming for 84000 words this month to top my previous highest word count in a month, although actually I'm aiming for 50000. I'm working on various projects, hopefully I'll manage to concentrate on just one during October, but I seem to have developed an addiction to working on about seven different stories in a month... I really should start another one too, because I don't like abandoning my angel series for too long, and it's the main one I've worked on for years, but I can't seem to get past the first scene when I try and write it, even though I have about a billion scenes to go in it. I really want to finish editing the first story I wrote again too, because I've sent it off to an agent, only if they ask to see the rest it's kind of in progress again...

I'm in for this year's AugNo Aiming for 60k and I got up and down just to fulfill it. But I may not do the same for October since it'll be my first time writing the goth novel. But I have a plot in mind

Do all of you do a novel every month of the year? Now that would be a challenge!!!! Maybe I should try that for next year. Ok, 6 months out of the year
