So, if I'm still on this Japanese/Asian culture kick this year.. then I totally am entertaining ideas of some kind of asian ghost story, or something. Gothic literature, asian style... maybe even with a ghost in a kimono, and some kind of... haunting something... OR something set in a modern city in Japan, with creepy monster somethings... oh, so many possibilities....
My goodness, and it's only May!!!

I was having ideas way back in December. It's so hard to keep those plot-bunnies off of each other, isn't it? ;D At the moment I'm into psychological work. Especially after watching Abre los ojos. I've been reading diaries like Go Ask Alice and Jay's Journal, and it's really made me want to write something realistic, yet at the same time with a gothic flare. I'm thinking insanity, isolation and contact with the dead. But I'm not sure if that idea will last until October. But it's a start. My reasoning behind this idea is probably aggression more than anything. Currently my ex is attempting to use emotional blackmail to try and get us back together. And so more than anything right now I want to tear someone else down to see what joy comes from it - but inflicting this upon fictional characters seems a lot less selfish in my mind. Still going to feel bad for the poor, unfairytale-esque men who break down into blubbering idiots. Maybe I'll treat them to a nice dream about sex on the beach with one of the dead men they're mourning. So I have ideas, but no doubt my characters won't like them.

I've recently decided to plan out two novels, since I cannot decide on just one novel. The first one is an original story with a Beauty and the Beast-type theme, with a lot of Dark Romance as a driver. The second novel is still kind of iffy but still a want-to-do. I cannot wait to get started in October!

I can't wait for October either. I should probably start planning soon. Only two more months!

I'm looking forward to the challenge, unfortunately I'll be overseas for most of October visiting family so how I'm going to fit in time to write I don't know! As for an idea, nope... nothing yet. This is going to be an interesting GothNo this year!!!

Three months later and I've settled on an idea. This year I'm going to write a series of dark, romantic short stories, under the collective working title of " Red Ocean".

I'm doing a kind of dark fantasy/gothic/lit-fic thing, that deals with a girl trying to leave behind the clique she's belonged to for years, and fulfilling a mysterious prophecy at a trailer park when she falls in love with a dark, handsome boy who keeps disappearing, and no one knows who he is.
Wow, that sounded way weirder than it actually is. And I didn't even mention all the cats. This will be an interesting month. Especially since I have ideas, but not really a plot. Or a title. Must find title. And plot. Plus I am getting the horrible feeling that this story is going to be much darker than I originally thought. Oh well, September is almost here, and I'll be plotting for GothNo then.

I'm not really sure for the genre I'm in, but I do still think my plot is a gothic. Maybe gothic fantasy, since it happens in modern world. But to keep the circumstance gothic, I make my male MC to stay in a mansion, half castle if the plot works My story is about a boy that lately finds he's the grandson of a necromancer, and releases a spirit not on purposely. It's an evil, I can say. There's his girlfriend too, a human, ordinary girl. She's the heroine, maybe, but I haven't planned so much about her. I can't wait to begin GothNo since it's my first time writing gothic. Yayy!

All your plots sound so cool, while I have nothing concrete yet School is eating most of my time and I have to learn French now - I used to have Spanish at my old school. Thank God Oktober is still a month away. Hope y'all do better.

Tempest, Grr, French. I started taking it two weeks ago, and then quickly remembered why it was I gave up with trying to learn it a year or two ago. At least you have all month to come up with a plot. Use the time wisely! Or just wing it next month.

Seems like you're not alone with that, iro. Even the guy who gives me private lessons now - he's like... 19 - has to look words up a LOT.
Today I restarted planning my story for NaNo, an old idea about Northern Ireland in the 70's. Most research is done and when I'm finished, I'll try to think about GothNo again. We'll see whether that works for me or not ;D
And thanks for the support!

Believe it or not, that line actually gave me an idea. XD

Yay plotting! I totally didn't plot at all last year and ran out of steam... ^^;
This year, I was sort of inspired by The Sound of Music, so I'm writing a story about a French family of singer/songwriters who are running out of money when their great-uncle dies and leaves them his old, but still semi-functional, asylum. He also leaves them his adopted daughter Lucy, who can see the ghosts in the building (which dates back to the 1700's and was owned and run as a meetingplace for French Revolutionaries). The Bernadiers set the hospital up and running again, and as patients move in, ghosts seem to appear more often, and things get a lot more complicated. I'm still trying to think of some peril or antagonist to pit the characters against... all I can think of are Nazi doctors who want to buy the building to use for their experiments (hence more Sound of Music references xD) . hmm... back to the drawing board!
