I'm behind again! Boo hoo never thought that I'm this sucked in Gothic. But really, these busy days prevent me from writing too much Need to refresh my mind and recall the muse, I think.

I haven't written anything. I hate the first words I wrote. They're scraped and eventually I will get started. Need boost but don't know what that is right now. I think I need to go to sleep, then get up when it is dark out and write from there. I have a prompt- " the Night doesn't save anyone" Maybe I'll use it to springboard into SOMETHING for Goth NO!

I haven't written anything today D: I have so much going on with planning to go out of town that there just hasn't been any time. That's okay. One day isn't going to kill me! Plus I have 10+ hours on the road in which to boost my word count! Yay for road trips!

Hey, don't try too hard for the writing to be perfect... that could be a huge problem. You shouldn't use much of the backspace or delete button for gothno ~ feel free to make a scary mess on the page!! Something terrifying!! With that mess will come all kinds of good stuff... just leave it there (unless you're changing the entire story) and you can come back to it later to fix it.
I'm trying to do that now. To just write my story down and not try to make it perfect. I mean, I'm trying to get across the basic core of my story, the theme, the characters... I want it all to come out. But I think if I want it to be perfect on the first go, then I'll be disappointed. I'm working on that... just writing it all out and trying not to look back...
For myself, today is going well, starting a few minutes ago, because I finally decided on a story!! That gay Japanese vampire story, lol. Oh my ~ it just wouldn't leave me alone!! I am so excited about writing it now!! I only have like 400+ words of it, but I have over 1k of plot outlines so far.... and I've jus tstarted. Yay!! XD
Good luck everyone!! Let's write scary words of gothic stories and such!!

Painting my nails a deep plum/black, set the candle out- flame burning, popped in Interview With a Vampire Soundtrack- about to start writing ... Oooh... I seriously just did almost the exact same thing. Just painted my nails black, lit some candles, and put on some Japanese goth-type music. Wow we're awesome. ^_^

I always have the perfectionist editor in my head when I first start a new project to. Once I get past about 1000 words, I'm somewhat about to kick the editor out of my head and in the butt! LOL I wrote 925 words in 35 minutes so that isn't too bad., NOt my best time by far but oh well. Good luck!

I thought the Interview With Vamp would be a good start. It didn't really help. However, I did get part of a scene and part of a second one from it so... ANyway- I typically paint my nails red when I want to get in a writing mood but the black plum seemed more fitting. Red for sexy blackish for wicked

So it's the fifth day and I just passed the 2,000 word mark. Siiiigh. XD I always have the perfectionist editor in my head when I first start a new project to. Once I get past about 1000 words, I'm somewhat about to kick the editor out of my head and in the butt! LOL I wrote 925 words in 35 minutes so that isn't too bad., NOt my best time by far but oh well. My prologue has maybe 500 words left in it, and then I know, I swear, it'll go faster. I think once I get to that point I can kick the stupid editor out of my brain for the rest of the month. My problem's usually not getting the first however-many words perfect, you see, it's getting the first scene perfect. Or close enough to perfect. If I can satisfy myself with that, it gets me better into the atmosphere and feel of the story and I can usually go on without lingering so badly.... Of course, that's if school doesn't come to take my soul before the soul-sucking horrors of my story can get written. XP I say that we who have inner editors to battle should arm ourselves with a few Write or Die sessions. The punishment noises tend to shut mine up, anyway.

I hope the last few words go quickly for you! I understand about the perfectionist part. I really don't write with an outline or very many predetermined scenes. I never plan or outline anymore. 5 years of NANO taught me that I am NOT an outliner (unless it is research and non-fiction). Also totally agree with the soul sucking nightmare of school (I teach English! UUGGG). Matter of fact I am off to the torture of it now. Here is a poem I wrote about returning to school . Monday's Shackles by JL Denman Monday's Shackles Clank slam turn lock bam weight heavy looming darkness of blackened iron and rusted nerves clank click turn slam circlets of doom and gloom and unabashed slavery Monday's shackles clank lock down on skin fresh ripe summertime free clank slam shackles twisted weights waiting to consume bars links kinks in the absolute joy of 3:00PM shackles shuffle dragging through a work day shackles clank slam doom gloom unrest heavy burden slavery slave to the time clock booming its own clang and clank across the check-in point's walls Monday's shackles . . . ain't work grand-
